National Disaster Response Force conducted an informative and highly interactive training session on disaster preparedness and first aid at Sun Valley International School on 21 May 2026 from 10:00 a.m. onwards for the students of Classes IX and XI. The session was organised with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding safety measures and emergency response during disasters. The distinguished guest, Mr Viresh Singh - Police Public Coordinator, Ghaziabad, along with Mr Dharmendra Sandhu, - ASI and Team Leader, 8th Battalion, NDRF and his team, guided the students through various practical demonstrations and life-saving techniques. The session proved to be extremely engaging as students actively participated in hands-on activities and learnt important emergency skills in an easy and practical manner. The NDRF team demonstrated the correct methods to assist a choking person, provide first aid during fractures and broken bones, and safely carry an injured person during emergencies. Students were also taught how to tie knots in different rescue situations and how to prepare a temporary stretcher and life jackets using available materials. The demonstrations on emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and disaster management helped students understand the importance of staying calm, alert, and responsible during critical situations. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the Principal felicitated the honourable guest and the NDRF team members by presenting them with tokens of reverence. The session left the students inspired, informed, and better prepared to handle emergencies responsibly.
